I'm soooo excited to announce that I've been lucky to find a partner in (creative!) crime to join up skills with and trial a new class in Retford. I believe if you put something out there and its in alignment with you then the universe will provide it in one way or another. I was only thinking recently how I'd like to team up with someone of a similar passion. It was by facebook that I noticed the page Miniature Music Sing and got in touch with Vicky the founder of this bright new group in Retford. We had a very brief meeting and set the cogs turning! After alot of thought and feedback from facebook friends we decided on the name 'Yogarama Kids'. The sessions incorporate Vicky's theatre, art, singing and music talent with my yoga stories & poses, relaxation's and quiet activities. Here is picture from the first taster and we look forward to trialing them during November, with a plan to bring into my home town Worksop next year!! Classes run Tuesday's 4.30-5.30pm at The New Life Centre, Retford, Notts, DN22 6EA, ideal for ages 4 upwards and £4 per child. Both Vicky and myself are fully qualified and Insured with DBS checks in place. Please get in touch to book your children in. The vision: CREATIVE, CONFIDENT, CALM KIDS Please see my article below on my Kids Yoga section about the benefits of Yoga for Children in today's world

11/7/2014 0 Comments Frozen heart or warm heart?I seem to be seeing these three little words everywhere- you'll recognise them if you have children or know anything about the Disney Film 'Frozen'. So what am I going to talk about...... Well there is a 'deeper' meaning behind the film. In brief Elsa the main character has special magic powers: to freeze anything she touches- which at first is fun but she doesn't know her own depth with these powers. She is locked and hidden away from everyone for years, she eventually breaks free and creates her own Ice Caslte hoping that nobody can reach her. So she of course deep down is lonely, hurting, resenting, hating herself for what she has done to her loved ones and that she's had to separate herself from the life she once had - this creating her 'frozen heart'. The more she feels this way the stronger her powers become. The story goes on, her sister doesn't give up hope of finding her. To speed up to the final cut Elsa and her sister are eventually re-united after a battle or two. Her sister unfortunately is frozen during a fight and Elsa is so heartbroken she hugs her. As Elsa's re-connection in her heart of real love re-fires up this one act melts her sister and frees her of this power to destroy. A happy ending with an important message for us all, you can't live with a frozen heart to give love you have to feel love yourself'
Do you get those days where everything just feels so good, it all goes your way, no hiccups or stresses? Then in contrast there are days when you feel you're doomed. The cloud follows you around?
What can we do about this? There has to be the contrasts- a teacher once said to me you can't appreciate the greatness and light without the dark, but.... its how we deal with the 'dark' moments, thoughts, days etc. FOCUS and PERSPECTIVE. Remember nothing is permanent in this life (especially us!!). The one thing we should all do is practice positive living consistently, not just when the dark days come. Wake-up and spend just 30 seconds thinking about a few positives in your life. Feel Blessed. Take this feeling with you all day and rule out the dark things with it. We get stressed over things we can't control. Over people and how they are. Over the news. Insignificant things................ How much energy and upset is really really wholesome? Today I joined two other great people (melanie jayne & kathryn pearson) that are in my life as a trio of positive and mindful living advocates at a Tools for Wellness event.
We've all been through our own 'stuff', had mentoring, transformed and continue on our journeys. We all had another thing in common; our practitioners certificate in 'EFT' another up and coming powerful 'energy therapy'. Our vision today was to raise awareness. Share our stories, our passion for helping people and explaining what EFT is about, and how it can help us overcome phobias, cravings, depression, anxiety, stress. We camped out in BT at Doncaster, a forward thinking company who were happy to invite us in and talk to their employees. High levels of work related stress float about this huge open plan building of call centre workers. Increased pressure to achieve targets and strict deadlines. People seemed to have so much going on in their life, its like they don't or can't address their own issues because they're too stressed, too busy to do so. Scared? Fearful? Don't deserve it? We tried to break through these thought patterns by talking about EFT. Emotional Freedom Technique. How it allows the emotions attached to buried trauma and pain dissipate through the action of 'tapping' around the meridians on the face and hands, and sharing feelings and thoughts at a deeper level. We generated alot of interest and people felt our passion and compassion. People are hungry to be happy but just don't believe they can, confused at how and where to go for help. We re-assured people that this could be the beginning of their new attitude to life, all at their fingertips- or rather our fingertips. The moment you accept and want to allow yourself to heal the moment your journey to transformation can begin. I'm excited about the future in spreading this light, combining my belief and expertise in relaxation and meditation to provide a package with Kathryn and Melanie............ this feels a good time to do so. Please contact me if you think your time is now................... ![]() I had a great day with lots of local teachers and teaching assistants on Friday at their Inset day. My part of the day was to deliver sessions to the groups. After alot of thought and hours of listening to recordings about stressful lifestyles and how we can help ourselves it became apparent that I have been teaching mindful living for a long time without the 'label' as such. Mindfulness is a buzzword at the moment, its roots are in Buddhism but is can be easily applied in everyday life. Notice how you feel, notice your thoughts, asking yourself if you are in the moment or is your head elsewhere. Being in the moment is so important so that your mind is less scattered. As you become more focused over time you can cope better in situations by noticing how you feel. Having that internal chatter before you take the wrong action or say the wrong thing can be the key to happier and a more awake way of living OK so............back to the workshops We did the simple thing of firstly being aware of our body, where we were, asking how we felt, noticing our breath and in-between asking how well we were doing to focus the attention into the moment. Not the past, not the future but right here in that room on that seat. The sessions were really well received and since this I've had interest for a after-work class. People were surprised how they could direct their mind away from thoughts and outside distractions. There was a real sense of calm in the room and I talked about 'from what place are you acting out of today. Is in anger? Depression? Happiness? Frustration? How different and how useful are your thoughts and actions if they aren't from a good place. Setting those intentions and getting to be more in tune with yourself really are tools for a calmer and happier life with less reactive stress. Hopefully from this successful day I will be putting on more classes with yoga and mindful living. WATCH THIS SPACE! ![]() Great to be at this annual show in London ! Its always so busy but its so exciting to see thousands of people growing and learning about this beautiful life long practice to inner peace, happiness and harmony. I always have a plan but get side tracked by all the lovely stalls of clothing, jewelry and art. I joined a workshop on Shamanic yoga which was the perfect choice as it linked in yoga poses with the elements, and we got to dance and let off steam so I found myself running round like a 5 year old feeling happy and excited about life. I helped out at the Rainbow Kids Stall and got chance to tell people how amazing their 3 week intensive training is, and encouraging more people to take up the 3 day kids training course. It was lovely to say hello to Francoise Freedman from Birthlight, what an authentic and great woman, and another buddy from the Vietnam experience who is now doing so well in London delivering Partner Yoga and baby classes. It felt good to be in this place saying this is it, this is my life now..... I treated myself (we need to value ourselves more!!) to a new pair of yoga pants with Chakra hand painted symbols on (wow factor) and a Tibetan Singing Bowl hand made, beautiful can't wait to share with my classes. Its so important we treat ourselves, but from a place of balance- I invested in this because it will being more depth and richness to my teachings....It wont make me any happier or give me any extra status!! But my students will love it I know!! ..and to complete the show was the final meditation in the Om Temple. perfect- well as perfect as can be. I feel really inspired and ready to go with my classes this week. Om Shanti xx The big H is - of course Happiness!!
Monday is the day of dread for many people. How sad really. I've been there, I know the feeling that your weekend of freedom and fun is over and the cloud re-appears, time to jump back onto the hamster wheel and start all over again. All the lightness of the weekend has gone. Have you ever stopped to ask yourself if you can do anything small to improve this feeling? You aren't going to make big changes, leave your job, win the lottery, I mean something just now in the moment to switch your thought process from heavy to light. This is very powerful work, trust me. If you begin each day with the intention to improve on yesterday, press the pause button the moment negative stuff enters your head. Or ask yourself how useful it is. How true it is. How necessary it is for YOUR OWN HEALTH. The idea that we have no control over others is also another gold tip! Is part of your frustration or sadness because you don't feel in control of a situation. Again, how can you switch this, look at it a little deeper to make sense of it. I urge you to try every day this week to start with an attitude of happiness and lightness. Look for some nice quotes, save them on your laptop, phone and computer at work so you keep seeing the words and images. YOU can turn it around and its amazing how small stuff works........ I'd love any feedback on how its worked for you. Bye for now and keep the big H going ![]() I like this, alot. I would have years ago screwed up my face, being very very body conscious, at the gym, watching my food choices and intake - the more I think about it the less connected I was to my inner/deeper self because my energy was wasted on the outer layer of this amazing species of the human form. Now I do feel very connected. A regular meditation and pranayama (breathing) practice and some lifestyle changes have brought me here. I left a busy stressful job that I felt was 'sucking my soul'. I no longer felt that I was achieving anything, I was chasing my tail and losing focus and touch with what mattered in life. After all do we ever really take a step back and think about who we really are? Where we are going? Where we want to be? All these questions and who is there to help you with the answers?! Well the answers are mapped out. YOU have to believe that you can change, influence and transform yourself by your thoughts switching across to the positive side. Less complaining. Less sorrow and feeling of 'loss'. How to connect in to a sense of goodness? Through daily positive 'I will today.....' 'I am today attracting....' I am all for speaking out to the universe for what you want, what you desire- there is NO room for any of the don't can't...... be clear, be precise, stick to it, write it every day, smile and watch little things happen, little shifts, and of course sit quietly and ponder on it too........ We have this opportunity to grow every day, and the food is our thoughts so keep them good. Hope you're week is going well and you aren't 'living for the weekend' ....... we should be living for today because that's all we have isn't it?? Until next time stay true and go eat that muffin if you deserve to! Jxx Hey! I've been really busy this catching up after last weeks 'duvet' days from a mini bug. I'm so excited at the variety of things that are on the horizon for both children and adults. Jules in Yoga is expanding and reaching out. Isn't that what life is about?? My aim, my passion, my purpose is to show people how they can relax, be in control (more) of their mind, because after all its the mind that is always jumping and monkeying around!! Yoga and meditation are so valuable- for adluts and our next generation as life get busier and faster, and we become less connected (partly through technology advancing!)
Take a few minutes to sit and think about your life, how busy it is and that YOU are important, yes YOU! have a great day.............. I'm feeling very 'high' following a Rainbow Yoga session delivered to a Brownie group in Rotherham. A large group of excited girls, all anticipating their first yoga class! We moved, laughed, did poses together, fell over, laughed again and whenever the singing bowl was sounding it was stillness and silence. WOW. yes it was and they got pretty good at it Two thirds of them loved 'ALL' of the session with a few specifically liking the relaxation at the end where we focused on colour and followed a rainbow calming meditation. The healthy heart badge really had been worked for in the session with lots of activity, love and also calming rest. We shared what made us happy and that being mad, sad, angry wasn't good for our heart. GOSH I LOVE THIS WORK!!! COMING SOON!!!! I've teamed up with a talented lady to combine her wonderful flair in theatre and arts with my rainbow yoga. We will rock the town with our sessions for children 5+. I cannot wait! I've been dreaming about this - parents leave your kids to get creative and grow and learn outside of the box!! FREE TASTER SESSION TUESDAY 28TH OCT 4.30-5.30pm at New Life Centre, Bridgegate, Retford, Notts DN226EA. Bookings are open now!!
